M27 Eastbound
Exit J3 onto the M271. Follow the signs to the 'Waterfront'.  When you reach the traffic lights at Ocean Village, continue straight on and follow the road until you come to a mini  roundabout. At the mini roundabout, turn right and follow the road past the Friends Provident St Mary's Stadium (Home of Southampton Football club), bear right at the mini roundabout and follow this road for about 0.5 miles, you will pass Brown's pub, keep going straight ahead until you come to a left hand bend - this is where you turn right - just after DM Dance studios, after turning right follow the road to the left (keeping the blue painted wall on your right hand side) keep going all the way to the end of the road, you will see Southampton Dry Stack Boatyard entrance in front of you.

M3 Southbound
Exit J 14 onto the A33. Follow the signs to 'Docks' and 'Waterfront'. When you reach the traffic lights at Ocean Village turn left, then follow the road to the mini roundabout as above. 
 
M27 Westbound
Exit J7 onto the A334. Follow the signs to Southampton City Centre. Cross over the River Itchen. After the bridge, at the traffic lights turn left into Princes Street. After approximately two hundred metres, just after Yau Brothers and Allport House (on the left hand side) turn immediately left and follow the road to the left (keeping the blue painted wall on your right hand side) keep going all the way to the end of the road, you will see Southampton Dry Stack Boatyard entrance in front of you.

****This is one of the most popular Powerboat courses and is based on the RYA Powerboat Level 2 Coastal course syllabus at £210 in Southampton Hampshire.

By the end of the Tec Rec Coaching two day RYA Powerboat Level 2 course for £210 in Southampton you should be capable of handling small powerboats safely and in a seamanlike way.

The course is 100% training with any assessment built in, which gives plenty of time for practising manoeuvres and correcting faults.

This course subsumes within it the 1 day RYA Powerboat Level 1 course - so a direct entry onto the Level 2 course, without attending the RYA Powerboat Level 1 course, is acceptable.

Complete Day one in a single engine Powerboat featured above, then do Day 2 in this twin engine Powerboat.
 
Day one features the slow speed manoeuvring skills, however Day 2 is all about the 'Planing Skills' the skills required for handling a Powerboat at speed. 
 
We go on a Navigation Expedition that covers extensive Planing Skills practice.

            [content_data] => Course Programme****You will learn about pre - launch briefing and checks, how to launch and recover from a road trailer, planing skills and manoeuvres, seamanship skills - coming along side a pontoon, man-overboard recovery, anchoring, Rules of the Road, basics of GPS and more.

Shore-based sessions will include instruction in practical use of charts, fixed and hand held compasses, tide / weather interpretation. 

The Southampton tidal waters are ideal for developing RYA Powerboat Level 2 skills and with a variety of moorings and marinas nearby there are plenty of opportunities to work on close quarter boat handling skills.

On the second day of each RYA Powerboat Level 2 Coastal course there will be a Navigation Trip from our base on the River Itchen to a Marina on the River Hamble where you can use the VHF Radio to arrange a berth to go ashore for lunch, the Passage Plan being put together by yourself.

The P/Boat L2 Certificate is what you need for the 

ICC (International Certificate of Competence)

For driving Powerboats in certain Countries abroad the Powerboat Level 2 Coastal certificate is used as proof of competence when applying for the International Certificate of Competence. ( ICC - conditions apply )  On completion of the P/Boat L2 course we will supply the ICC form for you to complete, attach a passport photo and forward to the Royal Yachting Association who will return the completed ICC.  (The RYA currently charge a fee for the issue of an ICC.  If you are an RYA Member it is free.  Minimum age is 16.

The RYA National Powerboat Level 2 Certificate is also a pre-requisite for the RYA Dinghy Instructor and RYA Start Windsurfing Instructor qualifications.

This Water Rescue Manikin evolved from a collaborative development with the manufacturers and recognised rescue professionals including the Royal National Lifeboat Institute and the British Navy.

Fred is unique in realistically simulating an unconscious casualty whilst in the water, floating at an angle of 45 degrees with just the head and shoulders above the water, he provides a challenging weight to haul out and position appropriately in the Power Boat.
