2 Day RYA First Aid course
A 2 day RYA First Aid course.
It's the same RYA First Aid course and certificate however it's spread over 2 days!
What's different then?
Using the RYA First Aid course syllabus we extend it over 2 days and add some more content to the subjects, we also create scenarios so that candidates can really get to grips dealing with and understanding what to do when an accident or illness strikes.
We already provide 2 day Rescue Emergency Care (REC) 'Outdoor' First Aid courses as a number of other National Governing Bodies of Sport demand that their Instructors/Coaches complete a 2 day minimum 'Outdoor' First Aid course - ie the British Canoe Union, Mountain Leader Training Board, British Association of Ski Instructors.

Your Tutors
This RYA First Aid Course in Southampton Hampshire is overseen by Steve Gravells of Tec Rec Coaching, Steve has taught Outdoor/Mountain First Aid and First Aid at Sea courses for over 30 years and worked as a NHS First Responder based in the New Forest. The course will be highly interactive with practicals and theory elements taught so that you remember them!
All Tutors have first hand experience of coming across accidents and incidents whilst personally skippering Yachts, or Mountain climbing, Powerboating, Kayaking rivers/sea, Dinghy Sailing, and Windsurfing is brought to the course.

Realistic First Aid Training
Lets get the First Aid kit out and use the contents, Hands, Feet, Arms, Legs, Head and Body there is plenty of Bandaging to do.
We work out what needs attention first - the priorities - plenty of scenarios to help you develop a method to remember.

AEDs, Defibrillators, Defibs
Really get to know how they work, get to use them, we use real defibs on this course!
Our training manikins are built to work with real Defibs.
Over the 2 days there will be scenarios on CPR for Adults, Children and Babies, all manikins give electronic visual feedback on compressions and ventilations.

Bleeding and Burns
Hands on with plenty of practice, working on your own or working with a team, powerful scenario exercises to get you prioritising to get the right result.

How to book a place. Costs, Dates, Venue etc.
We run the 2 Day RYA First Aid course in with the 2 Day ‘REC’ Rescue Emergency Care First Aid course, we cover all the subjects in more detail and there are plenty of scenarios to test your skills, all outside the classroom.
We also cover the Cat 'C' First Aid kit contents to satisfy the needs of Commercial Endorsement holders.
REC Outdoor First Aid certificates are recognised by most NGBs - National Governing Bodies of Sport ie RYA, BCU, MLTB, BASI, SKI Club GB, ASCL etc.
If you would like a REC certificate on top of the RYA Certificate then just pay an additional £10 at the start of the course.
