    [main_text] => Currently there is a £60.00 fee charged by the RYA ( Royal Yachting Association ) for processing and supplying the VHF / SRC Radio Operators Licence.  Please come to the course prepared to pay by Cheque or Credit / Debit Card  ( Unfortunately cash is not accepted )

Please ensure you bring a current Passport size Photograph of yourself for the VHF Radio Operators Licence.

Please bring a pen and paper should you wish to take notes.

If you have booked with at least 4 clear working days prior to the course we will post the RYA VHF Handbook to you.  If you have booked within this time you wil have to collect the VHF Handbook and pre-course homework (minimum of 3 hours pre-course preparation)

A VHF radio is an important piece of safety equipment on board and it is vital to
understand the correct procedures. Unnecessary transmissions could block out a Mayday distress call. 

All new VHF sets are either fitted, or can be interfaced, with DSC allowing calls
to specific vessels.

If you hold the ‘old’ VHF licence (pre-1999) you will need to upgrade your qualification if you purchase or use new VHF DSC Radio equipment. This can be done by attending this one-day course.
